Live traffic and better routes

In a connected world, smart routes will use live traffic to adjust their trajectories based on real-time and historical data. With the Live Traffic 2.0 implementation we'll be providing you with the right tools to ensure that your adventures aren't spent waiting in gridlock. In addition, we're overhauling the way our routes are saved to ensure a better web experience.

Milestone overview

Each milestone is composed out of one or more projects. These projects "block" the completion of the milestone until all projects in the milestone have been completed. For transperancy, we've identified three project types:

System Features

System features are upgrades to MRA Routeplanner that have been designed and planned by the development team.

Community Features

Community Features are upgrades to MRA Routeplanner that have been designed and voted for by the MyRoute-app community.

Internal Infrastructure

Internal Infrastructure upgrades are improvements to invisible systems and processes that increase sustainability and efficiency.

Live Traffic 2.0

By integrating new services and expanding the customized code for running these services the routeplanner will now provide a "Live Traffic 2.0" mapping option. This mapping option will display live traffic information projected on an opened route, showing traffic information in the direct vicinity of the route. In addition, the Live Traffic will allow members to customize their routes based on current traffic information, displayed through clear and user friendly markers displayed on the map.

This project was originally part of update 1.4, but was pushed back. The reason for this is that to add live traffic, implementing the new UI first would be more logical.

Improved route storage
